AirMemo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account or sign in, we may collect:
- Email address (via Google Sign-In)
- Username and display name
- Avatar color preference
- Google account identifier
1.2 Voice and Audio Data
AirMemo provides AI-powered voice memo recording. When you use the voice recording feature:
- Audio is recorded locally on your device
- Audio data is transmitted to Alibaba Cloud DashScope for speech-to-text transcription and AI task parsing
- Transcribed text is used to generate structured reminders and tasks
- Voice recordings are not stored permanently after transcription is complete
1.3 Task and Group Data
When you create reminders and collaborate with groups:
- Task content (title, due date, priority, group assignment)
- Group membership and collaboration activity
- Chat messages within groups
- Activity history (task completions, joins, leaves)
1.4 Subscription and Billing Information
When you subscribe to our premium plan:
- Subscription status and plan type
- Purchase token from Google Play (used for subscription verification)
- Subscription expiry date
We do not store credit card or payment card information. All payment processing is handled by Google Play.
1.5 Device and Local Storage
We store the following locally on your device:
- Monthly voice recording usage count
- Premium subscription status
- App preferences (language, theme, notification settings)
- Onboarding and tutorial state
- Lock screen widget data (task titles for display on your lock screen)
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain voice-to-task AI services
- Sync reminders and group data across your devices
- Authenticate your account and ensure secure access
- Process and manage subscriptions
- Send task reminders and lock screen notifications
- Display group activity updates
- Improve and personalize the user experience
3. Data Sharing with Third Parties
We share your data with the following third-party service providers:
- Alibaba Cloud DashScope (dashscope.aliyuncs.com) — Used for speech-to-text transcription (ASR) and AI task parsing (LLM). Audio recordings are transmitted to this service for processing.
- Google Firebase Auth — Used for Google Sign-In authentication.
- Google Play Billing — Handles in-app purchase processing. Purchase tokens are transmitted to our backend server for subscription verification.
- Custom Backend Server — Handles user authentication, group sync, and subscription management.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Security
All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption. Voice recordings are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections to Alibaba Cloud DashScope.
Your data is protected by access controls and secure server infrastructure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your personal data and account at any time (see Section 7).
Voice recordings are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently on our servers.
6. Children's Privacy
AirMemo is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
